DEVELOPING AND ROLLOUT OF A NEW EMERGENCY RESCUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (MIR) FOR THE NATIONAL AMBULANCE SERVICE

The completed and installed integrated system provides comprehensive, up-to-date and efficient support for the procedures within the framework of National Ambulance Service including rescue, dispatch teams, rescue teams and supporting infrastructure. As a result of the new development an IT environment was created that enables information from the emergency call to be instantly electronically available for the response team from the dispatch centre. Besides development we also carried out the task of migration, integration and implementation in the course of the project. We supplied the software and hardware necessary for the operation of the system and the training of the staff was also carried out.

Main elements of the project

  • Developing an emergency rescue dispatch system
  • Developing a questioning protocol
  • Supplying and building a contact centre
  • Building a high-availability centralized system at two locations
  • Transition to live operation and initial support, introduction of a nationwide system

The project by numbers

  • Project budget: EUR 6,6 million
  • 21 (county and central) dispatch teams
  • delivery and installation of 980 intelligent on-board units
  • building 194 rescue dispatch work desks in 20+1 dispatch centres
  • building 240 rescue dispatch work desks at 160 ambulance stations
  • 900+ ambulances equipped with tablets
  • 7000+ users, 3 million cases per year

Social utility

Magnet boards were replaced by a new, domestically developed rescue dispatch system at the National Ambulance Emergency Service. As a result, emergency units can be traced real-time on the map and the appropriate help can be sent from the centre to emergency cases and to accident sites. Benefits of the system include a reduced response time, traceable patient routes and comprehensive, real-time control over the whole rescue process from the call to the check-in at the hospital.
